If I had to rank them, I'd say: 2 > 1 > 4 > 3. Way of the Samurai 4 also adds strange mini-games that some may find dismissive or downright weird. I remember some people finding it a bit of a pain to deal with, I didn't mind it personally. There is also the ability to open and close the hospital, and the casino which effect certain routes.

Later in the game, you can even make your own Style Book from the moves you learned. Instead, they are tied to Style Books, in other words you can now use any weapon you want, the Style Books determine your move set. A positive change imo, skills are no longer tied to weapons.
Way of the samurai dona dona series#
Way of the Samurai 2 is one of my personal favorites because for me, it has some of the most memorable stories in the series.Īs for Way of the Samurai 4, it makes several changes to the series that have been staples since the first game, some positive, some negative. Thanks! Yeah, the games aren't lookers but they have a lot of charm, heart and fun! I went into NVIDIA Control Panel, overridden the anti-aliasing, and turned on sharpening. The game also crashes often if you Alt+Tab, I think Steam Overlay is what causes the crash so I turned that off. If I put my resolution to Full-screen native 2560 x 1440, the graphics would look pixelated and blurry, with bad anti-aliasing. The biggest issue for me was resolution not scaling correctly. Luckily, there are fixes/work arounds for the issues I ran into. I used NVIDIA Control Panel to give it better anti-aliasing, and sharpen it too.Īs for Way of the Samurai 4 on Steam, the port is.a bit rough. Today I spent half the day playing Way of the Samurai 3 on Steam and it plays well, there is some light stuttering every now and then but I think the console version had that too. So I've clocked in hundreds of hours into these games on console. The Sword Restriction Act, or whatever the 'Officer' brought up, as well as the sad time for the Samurai that Dona Dona spoke of began around the middle or so of the Sengoku Jidai, or Warring States, period of Japan, by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (I believe that was his most widely known name, as he had several) who was the successor of Oda Nobunaga.
